影片选角方面也很用心，乔安娜骨骼大，个子高，患有注意缺陷多动障碍却没钱拿药，她的高个子反而更能看出她的拘谨不安。而乔安娜体型小只，言行举止却落落大方。

虽然但是……精神疾病不是这么玩儿的，它不是心结，不是鼓足勇气说破无毒然后世界和平万物美好。它会不断反复、来回撕扯，像心电图一样，只要活着，就要波动。电影的处理太理想化了。
